One of the down­sides of spend­ing most of my free time out­doors is the photo back­log piles up quickly. Seri­ously, I do no know how all the guides have time to be in the field AND write blog posts. Well, I guess they also don’t have a desk job. Hmm.… well, any­way, I finally took a week­end off and decided to start work­ing through some of the back­log from this spring. Feels good to finally get some of this posted… though you don’t want to know about how deep the video back­log is. Next post will be on some more recent trips this summer.

Enchant­ments — 2009

Oops, this one is really old. I dis­cov­ered a set that I hadn’t posted from the Enchant­ments last fall. We were lucky enough to get per­mits to one of the more unique places in the state. I’ve been up in the area sev­eral times, but this was the first time we hiked from Snow Lake. It was gor­geous as usual.

Red Rocks — Mar 2010

I’ve found the south­west a great place to extend your sum­mer. I had sev­eral oppor­tu­ni­ties to climb there this year, and finally posted my pho­to­set from March. On the final trip this spring, I helped with some climb­ing classes then headed for some multi-pitching in the canyon. There’s so much climb­ing in Red Rocks, I don’t think it’s pos­si­ble to it all.…

Smith Rock — May 2010

Smith Rock is about a six hour drive from Seat­tle — which is a lit­tle too long for a week­end jaunt. So when we were there ear­lier in May, we thought we’d be lucky to get back to the climb­ing mecca again before the year was out. As fate would have it, we found our­selves pass­ing through later that month. Of course, we HAD to stop by for a few routes.

Van­tage — May 2010

From all these pics, you might thing all I do is rock climb. Ha! Is that such a bad thing? Spring climb­ing is a great time to get warmed up for “the sea­son” at the crag. Despite ter­ri­ble spring weather in the Pacific North­west this year, we cer­tainly made the most of it!
